This is an online
Bible dictionary of theological terms. You can use
this as a handy reference tool to quickly look up some
of the most used Bible terms as well as ones that are
often confused.
These theological
definitions are our own. Occasionally commentary
is included in the definition such as common questions
surrounding the term and the typical response to such
questions. One should not presuppose our support
for a position based on a definition; instead
definitions are based on commonly held beliefs.
These definitions are written in layman's terms
in an effort to make them understandable by everyone, not just
people with theological training. Definitions are
cross-referenced and links to articles are provided that will
explain some terms in greater detail and give a fuller context
of the discussion as well as opposing viewpoints.
Because of this, definitions are not
exhaustive and there could be more than one meaning to
each term. If you are interested in more
exhaustive definitions, we recommend checking out this useful list of
Bible tools.
