Courage to Change
“Be strong and of a good courage”
It takes guts to leave the ruts. It took a
lot of courage for Moses to convince the Israelites that they must leave
Egypt; it took courage for Joshua to settle them in the Promised Land (Joshua
1:6, 7 and 9). It took great courage on the part of Jesus Christ
not to swim with the tide of His time. The pulpit and the pew, the
missionary and the mission-field need courage, nothing of eternal
consequence happens by chance.
Most people are ensnared in the bondage of
lying and false witnessing today because of lack of godly courage to
tell the truth, many have no root after receiving Christ as Lord and
Saviour simply because they lack the spiritual backbone to attend a good
bible-based church regardless of what their family thinks or what their
society adopts (Matthew 16:17). It is easy in the world to live
after the world’s opinion, but you need courage everywhere on this
terrestrial ball to swim against the tide of mere public opinion.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of
wisdom (Job 28:28; Proverbs 9:10).Your courage must have
basis, for the righteous is as bold as a lion (Proverbs
28:1), you must trust Christ for your salvation from all sins for as
by one man’s disobedience (Adam) many were made sinners, so by
the obedience of one (Jesus) shall many be made righteous (Roman
5:19): every heart vibrates to that iron string. Accept the divine
offer of free salvation while it is called TODAY (Hebrews
4:7). Acknowledge the fact that you are a sinner, confess all known
sins to God, and repent of them with a resolve to forsake them for ever,
ask for pardon from God and the power to live the new life in Christ.
Moreover, once you surrender the whole of
your heart and life to Jesus, Heaven begins to reckon with you, because,
“ye are come unto Mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God,
the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels. To the
general assembly and the church of the firstborn, which are written in
heaven and to God the judge of all..” (Ephesians 2:12;
Hebrews 12:22-23).Tell me, can a person be in this position and not
manifest unusual courage? You must dictate the pace everywhere, infest
your surroundings with God’s light. Ye are the light of the world
and the cockroaches in the dark must flee.
Under God, this great nation can change if
I begin with myself. Christians in every strata of this nation must
begin to manifest courage for the right. As a Christian I must champion
the cause of God and transparency in public places. For those who are
hell-bound, their joy is for a temporal period having its basis on what
they can grab here but for those who seek for the city of God – Heaven,
the joy is unending. Be sure, there is no peace says my God, to
the wicked! (Isaiah 48:22, Psalms 9:17).
Therefore, to believe and act consistently
on the totality of the WORD of God as God’s message of love for me, to
believe that I must follow the footsteps of Christ no matter whose ox is
gored or what am are denied of, - that is genius. I would rather
obey God than to rule an empire. Receive courage; this is your
time to demonstrate what God can do through and for a man or woman who
will surrender all. This is the greatest exploit and manifestation of
courage on earth.
