Church
Issues
There
are a number of issues that divide our churches that have little
to do with theology although all of them have solutions that can
be found in the Bible. This is a collection of some of the
social issues that face the church today.
Abortion has become
a battle over a woman's right to choose and if a child is truly
alive when it becomes unjustified to abort it.
Cloning has many people confused. The church is opposed to
it but many people aren't sure why.
Creation has been an issue in our courtrooms for nearly a
century. Many believers have sided with "science"
and no longer believe the Bible to be literal in its account of
creation.
Divorce has ravaged
families like a deadly plague leaving half of all marriages broken
in its wake. What does the Bible say about this and how
should the church respond?
Drugs and alcohol have likewise broken families and the church
seemingly has little power to stop it. Did Paul really
advocate alcohol when he told Timothy to drink a little wine?
War has become a
depressing reality but some are morally opposed to it and believe
that all things should be able to be brought to a peaceful
resolution. Is this what the Bible proposes?
Speaking in tongues is popular in many churches today.
Likewise there are many who do not believe the gift is active in
the church today. This debate aside, are those practicing
tongues doing so in accordance with what the Bible says?
